Why can't just people have peace of mind?
To achieve it, I know I have to master the skills required to actually love God with all my heart and soul and mind and to love my fellow human beings the way Jesus loves me. And all this is predicated on the Fatherhood of our Loving God, and the family of human beings on earth. Were it so easy to do, to love people the way Jesus does, more of us would be doing it right away. However, we can't just love our fellow human beings out of sheer force of the will, we have to come to know and understand each other ... if people would but do this one more person, one day at a time then we would be realizing the making of heaven on earth: Peace on earth. In the doing is where peace is. Peace is a living dynamic choice to act upon our higher intellect, to reach for the ideals of the spirit, and to desire to become more like Him daily. This is the beginning of having that peace which surpes all understanding. It is not some stagnant state of useless bliss; it is rugged, courageous, loving, caring, strong, yet tender, sincere and most of all it is highly active. Real peace is not a pive state of mind that is mere, but instead real peace is found in the dynamic of progressively achieving the goals of the ideals of Jesus's religion - not just being "saved" and sitting there like a lump relying on the dead levels of historical writings - peace is realized now, today in life as we find it today - people only have to take that leap of faith that says, yes, it's true: peace is within me and I am capable of this.
